The Real Secrets Behind Indian Culture

            The Treasury of Indian Cultures

The Ganesh Chaturthi ; a festival loved by all the Indians and specially the Maharashtrians. The day begins with vociferousness of moms in the kitchen busy cooking Modakas and Bhog , frolicking children on the  small streets of Maharashtra busy making garlands for the idol , the mystic behaviour of young girls who will be trying to impress a handsome during the Arti busy dressing themselves and briefly all the hearts waiting anxiously for the one glimpse of resplendent Ganesha Murti (idol). When the Indian couple holds our Bappa(name of Ganesha , called by his devotees) in their hands and enters in the home , it's a benediction to see the elated faces of children around saying with their heart core "Ganpati Bappa Morya" . Here comes the welcoming of that divine idol which is called as 'Ganpati Pratishtapan' which is done by keeping the Bappa on a Paat which is depicted as a lotus flower in ancient texts , then the kalash is arranged and then the Puja is done and mantras are chanted and finally the Arti is done . Basically , all this is a Religious Ritual; holy and pure , but what if I tell you it is not? What if I tell you, you can be healed physically and mentally by just saying the name of the lord Ganesha?

Is this a festival or a free treatment given by a doctor which can't be seen but only be sensed ?

All the mantras we chant during Prayers are generally in the language Sanskrit . Sanskrit is called as Phonetic language; the sound of each letter is precise and intentional . Every syllable has a vibration that resonates with specific parts of the body and subtle energy centres . That means , mantras do have vibrations that can influence mind and body .

Every sound creates a vibration or frequency. Mantras are specific arrangements of syllables that produce stable, rhythmic vibrations. These vibrations interact with our body’s energy field (what yogic traditions call Prana or life-force).When we chant a mantra repeatedly, the sound waves resonate in different parts of the body This resonance can calm the nervous system, regulate breathing, and bring balance to the brain hemispheres. The rhythmic sounds calm the mind, reduce stress, and improve focus. Vibrations from Sanskrit syllables stimulate the brain, regulate breath, balance the nervous system, and may improve immunity and hormonal balance. When we say “Om Shri Ganeshay Namah” , ‘Om’ which is said as the primordial sound of the universe helps to activate the relaxation areas in our brain. The sound vibrations of Ga, Ne and Sha are heavy and grounding . They bring stability to restless thoughts and reduce anxiety . Repetition programs the mind with faith and self-trust. Many people feel a sense of “new beginnings” when we chant it. Sanskrit is a really special language, it has been 3500 years since Indians are using this language which shows amazing effects (physically) on human body .

 The Physical Effects:

·         Nervous system: Sanskrit chanting stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which lowers heart rate, blood pressure, and relaxes the body.

·         Hormonal balance: Some mantras stimulate the hypothalamus and pituitary glands (the body’s master glands), affecting hormones positively.

·         Respiratory health: Chanting requires deep, rhythmic breathing which improves lung capacity, oxygen supply, and detoxifies the body.

·         Immunity: Stress reduction and deep breathing boosts immunity by lowering cortisol and improving cellular repair.

·         Resonance in organs: For example, chanting “OM” vibrates in the chest, throat, and skull, gently massaging the heart, thyroid, and brain.

The sound ‘GA’ creates vibration in lower abdomen which improves digestion , ‘NE’ resonates in the chest ; helping regulate breathing and calming heart. The sound ‘Sha’ and ‘Ya’ activates the throat and head region stimulating thyroid and improving focus . Therefore, we can healed mentally and physically by just saying our Bappa’s name.

Festivals comes with beautiful clothes and jewelry . So, it’s the time to spend money on our looks. It was the day of Ganesh Chaturthi when I looked like a perfect Bharya; meaning the one who is supported by love and traditionally it means someone looking like a wife . Girls and women wear Nauvari on such days , so I did it too . The Nauvari saree looks so elegant and beautiful and captivatingly supporting Female’s Beauty . When waering bangles creates gentle friction and pressure on wrists which stimulates acupressure points ; improving blood circulation and balancing energy flow , so what’s wrong in wearing Nauvari ? It’s not just Indian Fashion but it is science sculpted by our ancestors which should be valued and respected, not just for posting on Instagram and twitting some quotes by mentioning ourselves as pround Indians but for also to understand the depths of Indian culture. The traditional look describes appyling Kumkum not bindi on the forehead which helps activating the pineal gland and pituitary gland which calms the nervous system and reduces stress.

Indian culture comes with lot such festivals which helps humans to be healed physically and mentally , strengthening  them and creating a moment that they will always remember .

Indian cultures are therefore the real treasure which should be preserved and respected by Indians to help the upcoming generations for their happiness .
